Sweet tater burger!

Taters and beans!
Ooooo....I'm very excited to post about this delicious, mouth watering "burger". I'm going to insert the link to the recipe bc I followed it to a T, and it ended up so stinking delicious that I want to give full credit to the howsweetitis blog who posted it originally.

I saw this sweet potato burger and was attracted to the char this blogger obtained on both sides. I miss a good char on my "burgers" since going veggie, and it's doubly hard to get it since a lot of my attempts at burgers literally fall apart. I was wary to try it, but the pictures looked so gosh darn yummy that I had to make an attempt.

While I made the sour cream topping for the burger, I really don't recommend it. I thought it was a really bizarre pairing, and luckily didn't make a lot of it. One thing I wish I had was avocado- I think it would have added a yummy fresh component to the burger, but it was still super delish!


I was very patient in that I made sure the pan was definitely hot, hot, hot so I could get that char on each side. I'm happy to report it worked perfectly!! The only thing I would change, or rather add, would be oats next time. I think the char on the outside was so good, that the softness of the burger inside was a slight, slight disappointment. The oats would have given a bit of a heartiness that was missing, but again, I really hesitate to say anything negative about this burger.




If you want something different and really healthy for dinner, grab some whole grain rolls and your favorite condiments and make these burgers!!
